Why did they build Obelisks so big?

How Long?

To build the obelisks they had to starts by carving out the tower like column. then they would import it from were ever then they would have there writers jot down what the temple wanted. You are probably wondering why they were important and that is because it was sayed that the son god would come out of the night hours and touch the top of the Obelisks.

Whats the use?

The Obelisks were made to prise the god like Ra, the sun god, that is why they were placed in front of the religious temples. Also they were made for Pharaohs after they had past away. Some obelisks had stores about gods or about any other important events in the civalization.

Placing the Obelisks.

When the men were done building they had to find a place to put them , Most obelisks were lay ed in front of temples. the men had to also dig a hole that was big enough for the base of the Obelisk. First they would put ropes around the Obelisk and pulled it with all of there might and lifted it up into the hole, when they finally made it they put the dirt back over the hole to keep it in place. If i was one of those men I would say " forget this I'm tired".

Building the Obelisks!

The Obelisks were created from pink granite, I would  have picked a manlier color if I was building something so big. The Obelisks were four sided columns with Egyptian writing on the sides called Hieroglyphics which is there form of writing but i think it looks like junk.

The Obliskes!

The Obelisks we made to honor god and other people but personally I would not take the time to build something so dang big. The reasons they built them so tall it so that everyone in the city could see them. I think if they want to see them so bad they should just go to were it is.
